Introduction

Few weeks back I wrote about Bitcoin and Cyptocurrency. I have covered a few basic terms in these articles, so I suggest you to go through them first.

This article is based on another application of the blockchain technology, the Non-Fungible Tokens aka NFT. NFTs have been all the hype for a few years now and some aspects of it are a bit confusing to say the least. So I took it upon myself to learn more about this technology and this article is my attempt to coalesce all the information in a simple and coherent way.

So a couple of definitions first

Okay, so let’s…

Introduction

I wrote a brief overview on Bitcoin in my recent post. In this article, I am going to put the working of Bitcoin Blockchain in more detail. I have referred to the white paper by Satoshi Nakamoto that explains the original concept.

Before diving into blockchains and bitcoins, let’s first see a few important concepts.

  1. Public-key cryptography

Definition:

“Public-key cryptography, or asymmetric cryptography, is a cryptographic system which uses pairs of keys: public keys (which may be known to others), and private keys (which may never be known by any except the owner). The generation of such key pairs depends…

Introduction

For the past few days I had taken it upon myself, to learn about blockchains, cryptocurrency. This article is my attempt to present information from all sources I referred to, in a simple and coherent way. Let’s dive in!

Disclaimer: I am, by all means, a beginner in the cryptocurrency space and my objective with this article is for it to be a high level overview or a starting point. By no means is this a financial or investment advice.

Store of Value vs Medium of Exchange

Store of value:

This is a term that you will come across often when referring to articles on cryptocurrencies. Basically…

As a software engineer, I watch a lot of educational videos on YouTube. Channels like freecodecamp, MITOpenCourseware, etc have a lot of great content which helps to understand different concepts as well as different coding frameworks. But this runs into a basic problem, YouTube wants you to stay on their website and hence will show a lot of recommendations which are not necessarily related to educational content you are watching. (You know the ones with titles like “You won’t believe what happened next”) So I decided to write a Firefox extension to solve this issue. I decided to call it…

Using Android,Chaqopy and notion-py to automate Notion.

How does the app work?

I recently wrote a post about how I used notion-py to automate adding my expenses to the deafult expense manager database of Notion.

After finding out how easy it is to add an expense using notion-py, I went ahead and created a simple android app which allowed me to put in a simple text string and then migrate that data to Notion’s database. I used chaquoy to run my python script in android. This project is open-sourced on git-hub and you are welcome to check it out and let me know what you think. …

I recently started using Notion and it is fantastic! I use it literally for everything, to take notes, as an expense manager, for planning projects, etc. Before Notion, I used to use google keep to track of my expenses in Keep Notes by Google and it looked something like this:

How I wrote the Expenses before

So basically just a dump of my expenses with the amount, place where I spent the money and the date.

Notion provides a template for managing your expenses which looks like this:

Hi. I am a 21 years old wildlife photographer and today I want to share my journey as a hobbyist photographer.

I recently posted a blog about my first wildlife camp. It was at this camp 7 years ago that my journey as a photographer started. I remember I bought my camera specifically for the camp. It was a Canon Powershot Sx150 HS. It was an entry level camera with 12x optical zoom which is not at all suitable for wildlife photography. Albeit I did not realize this then, I can surely say that looking back now. …

This is the story of my very first visit to the forests in India. It was at Kanha National Park. This is the trip that got me interested in wildlife.

So here it goes…

It was 8 years ago and yet I remember it vividly as ever. It was my first trip to any forest and like a child would wait if he was told he is getting a bag full of chocolates, I was waiting expectantly to see the beauty of nature and experience it’s aura.

When you are a first time ‘camper’ going into a jungle, the experience…
